Our original “Natural Light LED,” which precisely reproduces natural sunlight, achieves“Ra98”(Correlated color temperature: 5000 K) out of a maximum 100 on the “average color rendering index,” a standard index of color reproducibility*. This is the highest level ever attained in the industry. This high rendering achieves subtle color expressions that were considered impossible with conventional LED lights.

As shown in the sample comparison above, white LED lights, which is the current the mainstream, have a strong bluish tint, and in the case of standard fluorescent lights, specified wavelengths are more pronounced, so neither are suited to reproducing the true colors of the objects being lit. The spectral distribution of CCS’s Natural Light LED is extremely close to that of natural sunlight, so these LEDs can generate light that is ideally suited to reproducing the colors of the objects being lit.

What are "color rendering properties"?
"Color rendering" refers to the way that a lamp or other light source affects the way that an object's color is seen. The characteristics of the light source are called "color rendering properties." Generally, when a light source has good color rendering properties, it means that
it can light objects without changing their natural colors. The maximum
value on the standard color rendering index is 100.

Lamps used to light up paintings and photographs must reproduce colors precisely, and prevent fading. The Natural Light LED with ultra-high color rendering precisely reproduces the true colors of the items on display.
Because these LEDs give off almost no ultraviolet or infrared light, fading and deterioration of colors in artwork and ornaments are kept to a minimum. The lights can also be installed close
to the objects being lit.
